der Backup-Server für OSX-Nutzer muß wiederhergestellt werden. Aufgrund der Größe wird der Prozess noch über das Wochenende laufen und frühestens zu Beginn Mitte der Woche kann der Dienst wieder Einsatzbereit sein.

so in short – it might take some time to fix this on there XQuartz side/Mesa.
It seems the 2.7.8 version of XQuartz works mostly. Anything else does fail. So my suggestion is you go back to 2.7.8 and try this again. Sorry there is no fix at the moment.

eine Bitte: sollte die Hardware Probleme machen, die augenscheinlich nichts mit dem Benutzer zu tun haben 😉 – dann bitte uns kontaktieren. Es kommt wiederholt vor, dass Geräte mit defekten Komponenten “gerade'” aus der 3 jährigen (!) Garantie rausfallen und nicht repariert werden können. Das ist dann sehr ärgerlich. Wir versuchen die Geräte mit entsprechenden Garantien zu beschaffen um genau das zu vermeiden.

My deleted calendars keep reappearing in Apple iCal
If you try to delete a calendar using Apple OS X Calendar 6 or 7, it will likely keep reappearing. This is because Calendar tries to copy over all tasks from that calendar to a new calendar collection with the same name.
Since SOGo supports events and tasks in the same collection, Calendar re-creates a calendar collection exclusively for tasks contained in the collection you are trying to delete.
To avoid this issue, visit the SOGo’s web interface and open the properties window of the calendar you want to delete. From the properties window, uncheck the Show tasks checkbox. Tasks will no longer be sent over CalDAV and SOGo will report that the calendar collection only supports events.
Once done, simple refresh calendars (⌘R) or restart the Calendar application to be able to delete your calendar.

If you previously installed MacTeX, you may already have your own favorite front ends and GUI programs. Perhaps, in addition, you have Ghostscript from another source such as MacPorts or HomeBrew. In these cases, it is easy to install just the pieces you need. Download MacTeX using the earlier link. Double click to install. Several pages of information will be displayed; below is one of the last. Click the “Customize” button to obtain a page allowing you to select one or more of “TeX Live”, “Ghostscript”, “GUI Applications.”
It is not necessary to remove the earlier TeX Live installation before installing a new one, and indeed we don’t recommend that because MacTeX makes it easy to revert to the older version if the new version has a flaw. If you really need the extra space, other sections of these web pages explain how to remove older versions of MacTeX.
Ich packe das neue MacTex demnächst auch in das selfservice für die Neuinstallation.
Update: Unter Applications gibt es das Tool Tex Live Utility – das hält das Paketmanagement auf Zack. Beim ersten start bitte im Menü Tex Live Utility den Punkt “Check for Updates” ausführen. Erfahrungsgemäß ist das Tool schon bei Installation out-of-date. Danach die Updates durchlaufen lassen und/oder auf automatische Update einstellen – wenn man will.

TCP tuning
Like most modern OSes, Linux now does a good job of auto-tuning the TCP buffers, but the default maximum Linux TCP buffer sizes are still too small. Here are some example sysctl.conf commands for different types of hosts.
For a host with a 10G NIC, optimized for network paths up to 100ms RTT, and for friendlyness to single and parallel stream tools, add this to /etc/sysctl.conf
# allow testing with buffers up to 64MB
net.core.rmem_max = 67108864
net.core.wmem_max = 67108864
# increase Linux autotuning TCP buffer limit to 32MB

im Zusammenspiel des Mailprogramms unter OSX und dem Mailprogramm auf IOS-Endgeräten kann es zu Problemen beim Abgleich kommen.
Es scheint so zu sein, das der Index nicht korrekt aktualisiert wird und dadurch ein Gerät Emails wieder “unlöscht” die vom anderen Gerät gelöscht worden sind.
Sollte das Problem auftauchen, bitte ich Sie auf dem MacBook unter dem Menüpunkt “Mailbox”/”Postfach” die Funktion “Rebuild” anzuwählen. Das soll zu einem Abgleich des Indizes zwischen Server und Endgerät führen. Das Problem sollte damit für einen gewissen Zeitraum behoben sein, wird aber – gerade bei intensiver Nutzung – wieder auftreten.
Leider tritt das Problem nur in der Kombination OSX und IOS und IMAP auf (also Mac Notebook und Ipad oder Iphone). Ich hoffe das Apple das Problem mit einem Update behebt.
Es wird berichtet, das es hilft, die Trash-Einstellungen unter “Mail >Preferences > Accounts> Mailbox Behavior > Trash ” zu ändern. Eventuell auf das Speichern von gelöschten Emails zu verzichten.
Das Löschen über die groupware (webinterface) funktioniert immer.
