IWM distinguished visitor Nalini Joshi awarded Order of Australia

Congratulations to Nalini Joshi, Univeristy of Sydney, who in June 2016 received the top honour of Officer of the Order of Australia  for her distinguished service to mathematical science and tertiary education as an academic, author and researcher, to professional societies, and as a role model and mentor of young mathematicians.  The honour was given to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday.

Nalini Joshi is one of the distinguished visitors for the 2016 Indian Women in Maths activity. She will be attending the IWM annual conference in Hyderabad as well as going to Tirupati and Vijayawada to give lectures. Her visit is partly sponsored by CWM as part of its 2016 funding calland partly by NBHM.

Nalini was also the London Mathematical Society’s Hardy Lecturer in 2015.
