2012-04-30: Mathematicians honored in Nepal

On April 30, 2012, for the first time in the history of Nepal, a special celebration was staged to pay homage to six senior mathematicians who have served the country for more than 50 years and who are over 75 years of age. The prime minister of Nepal, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, honored them in a grand ceremony that was followed by a parade around Kathmandu in open vehicles with  a music band followed by other mathematicians, students, and admirers.
